It’s been unforgivably long since I’ve posted anything here. I know that all 5 of you who occasionally stumble upon this site have been waiting anxiously for updates…

But let me catch you up. I am now a senior lecturer and the Publishing MA coordinator at Oxford Brookes University. The role is full-on, busy, and I have rarely been surrounded by such good, wise, and thoughtful people as my colleagues here (the students are pretty damn good as well). I do love my job.

That being said, I have slowed down finishing the PhD – I’m currently making last-minute edits while we seek out externals. I’m also now a rights expert and continue to teach marketing and occasionally pop into classes to talk about data mining and social media.

Why bother to update this? Well, I have noticed in the 18th or 47th re-read of the thesis (at nearly 100,000 words that’s no short task), that I have a chapter that just doesn’t quite fit. It’s interesting, but it doesn’t specifically address the research so much as give a much broader context on digital copyright.

So I figured I’d share it here instead. Look out for that shortly.
